Sex chromosomes are one of the 23 pairs of chromosomes that determine the sex or the gender of an organism i.e, either male or female. Out of the 22 pairs of autosomes, they are relatively larger. They differ for each sex. For males the chromosomes are paired as 'XY', as for females they're paired 'XX'.
