❤️❤️❤️CAST IRON : -

Cast iron is a generic term for a variety of iron alloys, iron alloyed with carbon greater than 2% and silicon from 1 to 3 %.

With lower carbon levels, the iron becomes steel.

The silicon addition determines the level of carbon in solution and the formation of carbides or graphite, thus various grades of cast iron with different properties

Most common grades of iron and steel will rust, with the exception of stainless steel.

Rust results from the oxidation of iron in the presence of moisture, yielding hydrated iron(III) oxide, Fe2O3·nH2O

A cast iron skillet that is properly seasoned provides a protective layer that provides a barrier from moisture and oxygen that would otherwise result in rust.

Iron (96–98%), carbon (2–4%), plus silicon.

Application :

Metal structures such asBridges and heavy-duty cookware.
