HI FRIENDS
AND BE THE BRAINLIEST BY ANSWERING

Its said that kinetic energy is sufficient to overcome the force of attraction when it reaches at a particular temperature
First question

Then why do we need latent heat if kinetic energy is sufficient

Second question

Then why its said that heat energy is used to break the force of attraction

Third question

Is heat energy or kinetic energy is used to break the force of attraction???

Plz help me friends

☆first question ☆

we need latent heat because kinetic energy can only be produced if we provide heat.
for example, solid has low kinetic energy but if we want to overcome attraction we need more kinetic energy but without heating it is not possible.
so heating is neccessary to increase kinetic energy

☆second question ☆

you said that kinetic energy is used for overcome the attraction but we know kinetic energy is produced when we provide heat.
so indirectly heat energy is used to break the force of attraction.

☆third question ☆

in simple words heat enegy and kinetic energy is same .both are used to break force .
but we give different definitions to them.
as the heat energy provided, be the kinetic enegy.

Devipvu2004: Its written my book dear
AmyraSharma890: latent heat does not increases the temperature but it increase the kinetic energy
Devipvu2004: No dear its written like this latent heat doesnt increase the kinetic energy of particles hence there is no rise in temperature
AmyraSharma890: sometimes it can occur..but not always
Devipvu2004: Then sis if the kinetic energy of the particles increase then the temperature will keep on increasing during the phase change
AmyraSharma890: but how to increase kinetic energy? only by providing heat energy
Devipvu2004: Kinetic energy increase before and afier the phase change not during it
Devipvu2004: Plzz reply sister

Here is your answer

First
Latent heat is used to break the intermolecular force of attraction between the atoms which produces kinetic energy in them.

As it is said that kinetic energy is used to over come the force of attraction, it is only possible when latent heat is provided.

Second
Hope you understood this part from above explanation.
As above explanation states that heat energy is used to break the intermolecular force of attraction.

Third
Actually it is heat energy that break the force of attraction and kinetic energy is produced in it.

In case of boiling of water we can easily notice how kinetic energy is used to over come the force os attraction.

Hope it is useful

abhaygoel71: like as?
Devipvu2004: What
abhaygoel71: yeah wait
abhaygoel71: it is in case of phase change as you have asked
Devipvu2004: In case of phase change
abhaygoel71: in other cases it is possible that temperature is increased when kinetic energy is increased
Devipvu2004: What overcomes the force of attraction
abhaygoel71: the latent heat provided
Devipvu2004: So before the phase changs
abhaygoel71: what
