Acids and bases affect chemistry and our day to day life as well. They can be identified by their taste; acids taste sour and bases taste bitter. Acids are found in many substances including food items but their presence in fruits is very prominent, e.g., citric acid is present in citrus fruits such as orange and lemon. Vinegar contains acetic acid. Apart from these, some acids are widely used in the laboratory, like hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and nitric acid.
The bases which are soluble in water are called alkalis. In general, bases are found in household cleaners to clean grease from windows and floors and also in soaps, toothpaste, egg whites, dish washing liquids and household ammonia.

I had always confused myself in between these three terms but now I had a common way which is very easy which you can also learn first of all you have many things many elements but the main categories in which you can divide them is acids bases and salts for example you put something in water and it gives you that thing + hydrogen ions or hydronium ions then it is acid for example you have HCL in water it gives you positive hydrogen ions and negative chlorine Ion yes it is so it is a salt no let us take another example of H2 s o4 and water it also gives us hydronium ions and sulphate so it is also an acid now we know that water has to hydrogen components and one oxygen when one hydrogen is removed we are left with 0h which we can call hydroxide now if we take zinc Hydroxide in water we get zinc positive plus Oh negative so we can call it a base what happens when a base and acids are reacted with each other for example let us take the example of hydrochloric acid that is HCL and sodium hydroxide very active to give common salt that is sodium chloride and water now we can say when the neutralization action between the acid and base reacts then we have salt + water
