There are two process by which organisms obtain nutrition . ... Inautotrophic nutrition organism prepares its food from simple substances present in the surroundings . In heterotrophic nutrition organism obtains food from digesting organic compounds .Autotrophs are the producers in the food chain .

Example - Nutrition acquired by Green plants.

We know that the Green plants can make their own food with the help of sunlight and chlorophyll which is known as photosynthesis.
