Answer:

Xylem tissue helps in transport of water and minerals whereas phloem tissue helps in transport of food.

Xylem is found in the center of the vascular bundle, deep in the plant and made up of xylem vessels, fiber, and tracheids, whereas phloem is found on the outer side of the vascular bundle and made up of phloem fibers, sieve tubes, sieve cells, phloem parenchyma and companion cells.

Explanation:

Xylem helps in transportation of water and minerals in plants whereas phloem is responsible for translocation of food in plants.

Transportation of water by is xylem is unidirectional whereas translocation of food by phloem is in all directions.

Xylem consists of tracheids, vessels, xylem parenchyma, xylem fibre whereas phloem consists of sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem parenchyma, phloem fibre.

In xylem only one element is living i.e. xylem parenchyma whereas in phloem only one element is dead i.e. phloem fibre.
