Answer:

7.5 ohm and 0.4 A

Explanation:

According to the given figure,

We can see that the three top resistors are in series and their equivalent resistance is parallel with 10 ohm resistor which is at the bottom.

We know, For series combination;

  • R eq = R1+R2+......+Rn

Where R eq is the equivalent resistance of series combination.

So putting the values we get,

  • R eq = 10+10+10 = 30 ohm

And also, for parallel combination;

  • 1/R' eq = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + .....+1/Rn

Where R' eq is the equivalent resistance of parallel combination.

So, by putting the values we get,

  • 1/R' eq = 1/30 + 1/10

  • R' eq = 300/40

  • R' eq = 30/4

  • R' eq = 7.5 ohm

Which is the required equivalent resistance of the circuit.

And for current we know, From ohm' law

  • V = IR

Where, V = Potential difference

R = Equivalent resistance

I = current

By putting the values we get,

  • I = V/R

  • I = 3/7.5

  • I = 0.4 A

Thus, Current flowing through the given circuit is 0.4 Amp.
