Mahatma Gandhi decided to launch civil disobedience movement all over the country one of the important demand was to cancel the salt tax and Monopoly of the British government for manufacture of salt salt is an important ingredient in food of common people hence it was unjust to impose tax on an important commodity like salt therefore Gandhiji decided to break Salt act and start Salt Satyagraha all over the country
