★Given :

  • Mass of vehicle, m = 1500 kg.
  • Acceleration produced by vehicle, a = -1.7 m/s².

★To find :

  • The force between the vehicle and the road.

★Solution :

Here,we are given the mass of the vehicle and acceleration.Sine we have these two quantities,we substitute these in the newtons second law of motion and solve further to find the force.And the sign of the force indicates the direction of the body.

Using the second law of Newton,

F = ma

Where,

  • F = force = unknown.
  • m = mass = 1500 kg.
  • a = acceleration = -1.7 m/s².

Substituting the values,

→F = ma

→F = 1500(-1.7)

F = -2550

The negative sign indicates that the direction of vehicle is opposite.

Therefore,the force is 2550N.
