◆◆◆ THE TERM - ELECTION ◆◆◆◆

An election is an organised process in which people give vote to choose the persons who shall represent them in the Parliament or the State Legislature.

◆◆◆ MID TERM ELECTION - IS IT SIGNIFICANT ? ◆◆◆

The Lok Sabha or the State Assembly may be dissolved before its term is over. As a result, mid term poll is required to constitute a mew House. In fact, the term ''MID TERM ELECTION" has no legal significance, because election to the Lok Sabha is now called a General Election, irrespective of the fact whether the previous house ran its full term or it was dissolved earlier.
