the energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position relative to others, stresses within itself, electric charge, and other factors.Yes, an object can have both of these at the same time. Potential energy is energythat is stored in an object. Kinetic energy is the energy that is associated with motion. ... As it is moving it reaches the top so then it has both potential energy and kinetic energy

Potential energy
If you take a slinky and hold it's ends and release the slinky
What happened?
it will tend to regain it's original length . Obviously the band had acquired energy in it's position.
In above situation the energy gets stored due to the work done on an object . the energy transferred to an object is stored as potential energy if it is not used to cause a change in the velocity or speed of object .
The energy transferred to the slinky is it's potential energy.
Hence , energy possessed by a body due to its change in position or shape is potential energy
No , kinetic energy is not same as potential energy
