1. In an election the voters make many choices. They can choose the one who will malke laws for them.
2. They can choose who will form the government and take major decisions.
3. They can choose the one party whose policies will guide the government and law making.
4. Election give an opportunity to political parties to form government.

    5. An autocracy, monarchy, or dictatorship would prevail without election.

So, Elections are considered essential for representative democracy.
