If you got good marks in previous class, then you should take a look at the books and the syllabus of the new class. It will make good impression of yours on teachers as well as students. Generally teachers ask about your vacations; What did you do in your vacations? So prepare for the question.
With friends be free and friendly. Go with them and take them with you.
