In glucose (C6H12O6) , 5 - OH group are present and in Sucrose (C12H22O11) , 8 O- OH groups are present . which is polar in nature . they are involved in intermolecular hydrogen bonding with water molecules so these compounds are readily soluble in water .
Benzene (C6H6) and cyclohexane (C6H12) are hydrocarbons they do not have polar group so they can't make hydrogen bonds with water therefore , they are insoluble in water .
