3. Blood pressure and normal blood pressure of a human :-

Blood pressure is the force of blood against the arteries. An individual should maintain a normal blood pressure from 90 – 120 / 60 – 80 mm Hg. Blood pressure is given by two numbers, with one above or before the other – 120/80.120 – This is called systolic pressure and 80 – This is called diastolic pressure.

4. Ascent of sap and it's occurence in tall plants :-

The ascent of sap is the transport of the water and the inorganic minerals in the plant in the upward direction from the roots to the leaves. The root pressure theory does not explain the pressure which is involved in the process of transport. Root pressure is not enough to transport water in tall trees. The transpiration pull theory is based on the pressure which is created due to transpiration, adhesion and cohesion forces. There is cohesive force between the water molecules. There is adhesion force between water and xylem elements. The force is created due to loss of water due to transpiration which helps in the conduction of water in tall trees.

b) significance of double circulation :-

The heart is the key organ for blood circulation and the double circulation is an efficient way of circulation as it provides an effective way of circulation. The main difference is that the blood follows two routes – one for oxygenated blood and the other for deoxygenated blood. Hence, the name “double circulation.” The majority of mammals, including humans utilize a double circulatory system.
