For reproduction, an organism needs even number of chromosomes so that the chromosomes can divide equally and form a new individual. But, can mules reproduce?

A mule is an offspring of a male donkey (i.e. A jack) and a female horse (i.e. A mare). Due to this, mules have odd number of chromosomes. A typical mule inherits 63 chromosomes. But as we discussed earlier, an even number of chromosomes is needed to divide and reproduce. The different structure and number of chromosomes prevents the pairing up of chromosomes, rendering most mules infertile (an organism which cannot reproduce).

Thus, a mule cannot produce offsprings.

hey mate...✌️

A mule is the offspring of a male donkey (a jack) and a female horse (a mare). ... The mule ends up with 63. Mules can be either male or female, but, because of the odd number of chromosomes, they can't reproduce....
