Keep one thing in mind whenever you are thinking about any school exam (even if it is class 12) - NCERT is 'enough' for clearing your concepts really well. Though, it might seem to be pretty tedious, if you work a little on it, you'll be fine with it. Coming to your question, in class 10, NCERT is enough for Science- go through the theory and the questions in the book. For Maths, you'll get a pretty good hold of the concepts and their application once you are done with the book problems and in case you demand more practice, go for RD Sharma (I did that book and it's really good for 10th grade). Well, I personally went for my class 10 exams only with NCERT knowledge and I did attain a 10 CGPA eventually....so that adds a little credability to my experience. All the best for your exams
