wall is 4.5 m and the breadth is 3.6 m (Fig11.6). Find the cost of white

Correct Question :- A door of length 2m and breadth 1m is fitted in a wall . The length of the wall is 4.5 m and the breadth is 3.6m . Find the cost of white washing the wall if the rate of white washing the wall is Rs.20 per m². ?

Solution :-

→ Length of door = 2m

→ Breadth of door = 1m

→ Area of the door = Length * Breadth = 2*1 =2m²

Similarly,

→ Length of wall = 4.5m

→ Breadth of wall = 3.6m

→ Area of the wall = 4.5*3.6 = 16.2m²

So,

→ Area for white washing = Area of the wall - Area of the door = 16.2 - 2 = 14.2m²

Therefore,

→ Cost of white washing per m² = Rs.20

→ Cost of white washing whole Area of wall = 14.2 * 20 = Rs.284 (Ans.)
