Q 1) Rohan buys a new desk which is 1 m long and 85 cm wide, for his room. He wants to put a frill on the boundary of the desk to decorate it. The frill costs ₹5 per cm . How much will it cost to Rohan to buy the frill ?
Q 2) In a triangle ABC, the length of AB = 6 cm , BC = 7 cm and AC = 9 cm . Find the perimeter of the triangle.

• The desk is in rectangular shape
• Length = 1m=100cm ; Breadth = 85cm
• As Rohan wants to put a frill on only the boundary of the desk , we have to find the perimeter of the desk and multiply it with the cost of the frill to find the total cost.
• Perimeter = 2(l+b) = 2(100+85) = 370 cm
• Cost of the frill = 370 × 5 = ₹1850

In ΔABC

• AB=6cm ; BC=7cm ; CA=9cm
• Perimeter of the triangle = sum of all sides = 6+7+8 = 21cm
