The group of letters which is added at the last of that word to form a new word is known as suffix.

Explanation:

Eg: un+available= unavailable. Here 'un' was added before 'available' so as to form a new word. Hence it's a prefix.

available+ity= availability. Here 'ity' was added after 'available' so as to form a new word. Hence it's a suffix.
