Answer:

prefix is something that comes in front of words to form their opposite, For example- im, dis etc

Suffix is something that comes after a word to form abstract nouns, For example - ment, ship etc

Answer:

The group of letters which is used before a particular word to form a New word is known as prefix.

The group of letters which is added at the last of that word to form a new word is known as suffix.

Explanation:

Eg: un+available= unavailable. Here 'un' was added before 'available' so as to form a new word. Hence it's a prefix.

available+ity= availability. Here 'ity' was added after 'available' so as to form a new word. Hence it's a suffix.

Hope it helps you!
