Here's your answer.........

Given zeroes are α =1, β =-3

i) sum of zeroes = α+β = 1-3 =  -2                                        ----(1)

ii) product of the zeroes = αβ =1(-3) = -3                             ----(2)

Required quadratic polynomial = x² - (α+β)x+αβ

= x² -(-2)x +(-3)

=x²+2x-3

compare this with ax²+bx+c

a= 1, b= 2 , c= -3

sum of the zeroes = -b/a = - 2/1  = -2      [ this is equal to (1)]

product of the zeroes = c/a = -3/1  = -3   [this is equal to (2)]
