1. Political parties were banned in Russia before 1914.
2. George Plekhanov a follower of Karl Max formed the Russian social Democratic Party in 1883.
3. Many other socialist groups later joined this organization and were know as the Russian social Democratic Labour party in 1898.
4. However, the party soon split into two groups over question of organization and policy.
5. They were know as the Mensheviks and the Bolsheviks.
6. There was difference between the two parties.
7. The minority group led by Plekhanov was know as the Mensheviks.They wanted to bring changes through peaceful and constitutional means and they favoured the parliamentary system of government.
8. The majority group consisted of extreme socialist who were called the Bolsheviks.Lenin was their leader.

The French revolution was the most important activity which took place in the France which is located in the continent of Europe.
The ideology of French Revolution spread all across the world and it changed the mentality of the people. Similarly, this French Revolution opened the mind of people living in Russia and made them aware about the topic of socialism.

socialism is a political and economic situation in which the authority is in the hands of a social group of people and is not concentrated in the hand of a single individual.The socialism was an idea in Russia which was introduced by several people who worked to achieve it.

These people believed socialism as tool to eradicate all the pain and re-establish the peace.
1)ROBERT OWEN
Robert Owen belonged to America. He was the one to establish a social community or a Cooperative house in the new Indiana called as new Harmonica.He was one of the oldest known people to propagate the idea of socialism.
2)KARL MARX
Karl Marx gave the ideology of removal of capitalist from a country. According to Karl Marx the concentration of money and power in the hand of a single individual is destroying the country's identity as well as is an injustice to the poor.So, He wanted that the capital and power should be divided among the people so that all can get benefit from it.
EARLY RUSSIA :-
In the early 13 century, Russia was political backward and it was partly semi Barbaric and it was partly feudal.
BEGINNING OF 19TH CENTURY
By the beginning of 19th century, the public was divided into three groups known to be as conservatives liberals and radicals.
1)CONSERVATIVES
These were the people who wanted a slow and gradual change and did not want autocracy to be removed. They wanted that the old empires should be back to powers.
2)LIBERALS
Liberals wanted a change but in law and order.They propagated The ideologies of one or more religions and were the believers of universal adult franchise.
3)RADICALS
Radicals wanted a drastic change and wanted to bring the change overnight with the help of violence and every possible way.But they were different from liberals because they did not support Universal adult franchise and women representation in the politics.
1905 REVOLUTION :-
on 5th of May 1905, father Gapon along with his followers marched down for a peaceful procession. He and his followers were brutally attacked by army and soldiers. Around 100 died, more than 300 were injured.
HARDSHIP PERIOD
Close to 19 century, the population of Russia doubled and the economic condition of Russia became worse due to the lack of availability of the livelihood materials for the people.
The prices of goods Rose, taxes were heavily imposed on the people.Moreover due to the entrance of Russia in the world war one created a pressure on country's economic system.Also the people believe that Tsar and Tzarina were highly extravagant and were wasting public money.A discontentment arose in the mind set of people against their autocratic rulers. This lit the fire of Socialism in people of Russia.Various revolutions took place and at last the king had to agree for the establishment of a parliament known to be as DUMA.Constitutional Monarch was adopted and the king had to accept it.
FEBRUARY REVOLUTION :-
On 22nd February, the DUMA met but were attacked by the cavalry and forces called by the king. The king gained control over the DUMA and wanted to end the democratic monarchy established.Again, The forces were called on 24th and 25th february and at last the DUMA was suspended on 25th February. Vladimir Lenin returned back to Russia in April 1917 from exile.
There was a division in the party into BOLSHEVIKS(Followers of Lenin) and MENSHEVIKS( Boycotters of Lenin).
Vladimir Lenin represented his April theses in which three demands were put on to be achieved by the party.
OCTOBER REVOLUTION:-
The revolution was led by the Bolsheviks, who used their influence in the PETROGRAD SOVIET to organize the armed forces.Bolshevik RED GUARD forces under the MILITARY REVOLUTION COMMITTEE began the work of inspecting and capturing of government buildings on 7 November 1917. The very next day, the WINTER PALACE was captured giving lenin supreme powers.
This way the autocracy was completely summoned from Russia and new concept of Socialism came.
The socialism was responsible for all this.
AFTER OCTOBER :-
after October the party of Lenin was renamed as the Russian Communist Party.RCP led Russia with Lenin as its head.
STALINISM :-
After Vladimir lenin, the party went into the hands of Stalin.His period was known to be as stalinism.Kulaks were formed and collectivisation was adopted.All the farmers together cultivated in a single farm and shared the profit or the loss which they conceded.This is how Russia Rose from Monarchy to Communist Form of Government.
