A rectangular field is 50 m long and 30 m wide. It consists of two perpendicular roads running through its centre and parallel to the length and breadth. The widths of the longer and shorter roads are 5m and 10 m respectively.

Find the cost of paving the roads at the rate of $150 per m2​

Area of the road=40×5+60×5−5×5

                         =200+300−25

                         =475sqm  

Cost of graveling the roads =60 paise per sq meter.

∴475×60paise

=28500 paise

=Rs.285
