A. Three types of rocks are igneous , sedimentary, metamorphic.
B.the word tectonic comes from Greek word meaning builder.the tectonic plates theory states that the outer solid lithosphere is made up of several plates .the high temperature and pressure below the crust produces a trace of melting which allows the plates to move
C.divergent movement:- when the plates move away from each other the movement is called divergentovement.
convergent movement:- when the two plates come towards each other they may either collide or crumble such type of movement are called convergent movement.
D.southamerica, Africa ,Australia,antartica.
E.when the Gondwanaland was divided into many fragments then the indo Australian plate moved slowly towards north.it collided with much larger Eurasian plate.t he northern edge of indo Australian plate was pushed beneath the European plate.under the impact of collision ,the sedimentary rocks enclosed ocean were folded to form mountains.

1. Three types of rocks with their examples are
Igneous rock - basalt.
Sedimentary rock - shale.
Metamorphic rock - slate.
2. The earth's crust is cracked like an egg shell surface and is divided into several solid blocks of rock which float on the asthenosphere that is upper layer of magma. These are called the tectonic plates according to plate tectonic theory.
3. Convergence and divergence of plates are two endogenetic processes where convergence results in collision of two plates and subduction of the lighter plate into the magma whereas in divergence, the plate move apart.
Convergence causes volcanic eruptions, earthquakes where divergence doesn't.
Convergence cause formation of canyons, mountains, etc. Divergence causes mid oceanic ridges, etc.
4. African plate, Antarctica plate, south American plate, Australian plate, and Asian plate( India, Arabia, Malaya ).
5. Due to the convergence of angaraland and gondwanaland plates, the sediments in the tethes sea lying in middle were compressed and in this way, fold mountains called the Himalayas were formed.
6. The peninsular plateau divided into central highlands and the Deccan plateau at present is the oldest landmass of India and is composed of old igneous and metamorphic rocks.
7. Northern mountains.
Peninsular plateau.
Indo gangetic plain.
Thar desert.
Coastal plains.
Islands.
8. The Himalayas are conical mountains with pointed peaks. They are the sixth longest mountain chain in the world with a length of 2576 km.
11. The three river systems that form the northern plains are the Ganga river system, the Sutlej river system and the Brahmaputra river system.
12. The northern plains are about 2400 km long and about 240 to 320 km wide starting from the lower portion of shivaliks extending till Punjab in the West and till the starting of peninsular plateau in the south.
13. The river becomes full of water and sediments in its lower course and it's carrying capacity decreases and so, it branches out from the main stream in different channels called distributaries.
14. Doab derived from do meaning two and ab meaning water is the fertile land present between two confluencing or converging rivers in their catchment.
15. The oldest landform of India is the peninsular plateau as it broke away from gondwanaland. Deccan plateau is a part of this peninsular plateau and formed 60-68 million years ago at the end of Cretaceous period.
16. The features are
The Deccan Plateau lies to the south of the Satpura Range and extends up to Cape Comorin. ...
The Deccan Plateau is composed of some of the oldest crystalline rocks. ...
The plateau gently slopes towards the east.
Its height varies from 300 meters to 900 meters above the sea level.
