Hi guys..!! My question is as we can say that similar charges repel each other but how protons together fits into the nucleus...

neutrons have neutral charge while protons have positive charge and thus are present in the nucleus

actually it's true that like charges repel each other and opposite charge attract each other...we are hearing this from our childhood... isn't it...but have u ever studied about these in deep.....this phenomen is come under electromagnetic force...right...but inside the nuclear this force ceases to act..... actually there is another kind of force known as nuclear force...and u will be surprised to know that nuclear force are much much stronger than electromagnetic forces....yes protons repell there too but due to strong nuclear forces they are unable to come outside the nucleus....same case is with neutrons inside the nucleus....there are many theories behind this...and one of the theory i expalined to u.
