A body is projected vertically upward with velocity u when the body is at half the max. It's speed is 10m/s. Find max. Height

Given:-
Let the total height be H.
H=h+h=2h
Speed at h = 10m/s
g=10m/s2
v=0 (at max height the velocity is zero)
u is initial velocity.

Formulae:-
v^2=u^2−2gh (the ball is thrown opposite to gravitational acceleration)

Solution:-
In the formula, substitute the given values,

For total height:-

(0)^2=u^2−2(g)(H)

0=u^2−2(10)(2h)

40h=u^2--- (1)

Now, for half of maximum height:-
In the formula,
v^2=u^2−2gh

(10)^2=u^2−2(10)h

100+20h=40h (substitute value from (1))

100=20h

h=5m

Since,h=5m

H=2h=2(5)=10m.

Therefore, the maximum height is 10m.
