The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is an international organization (group of countries) who do not want to be officially aligned with or against any major power bloc (group of countries). In 2019, the movement had 120 members and 25 observer countries. The group was started in Belgrade in 1961.

NAM stands for non aligned movement.it is an organization of developing countries like india , Yugoslavia, egypt etc . who decided not to align with the two super powers. the founding fathers of NAM were Jawaharlal Nehru (india) , Abdul gamal nasser (egypt) and broz tito (Yugoslavia) . it has its headquarters in jakarta indonasia.NAM has been playing a major role in the dissarment in the struggle for world peace it has worked for security, independence, development and cooperation among developing nations . NAM is relevent even today as it works in the favour of disarmament and against social disagreements.
