Answer:

area of shaded region is 170.83 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Side of square = 14 cm

We know that,

Area of square = Side²

=> Area of square = 14²

=> Area of square = 196 cm²

Now,

There are four semi circles in the square i.e we have two complete circles with diameter 2a cm.

=> 3 + a + 2a + a + 3 = 14

=> 6 + 4a = 14

=> 4a = 8

=> a = 8/4

=> a = 2

Therefore, radius of circle is 2 cm.

Now,

Area of non shaded region = 2πr²

=> Area of non shaded region = 2 × 22/7 × 2 × 2

=> Area of non shaded region = 25.14 cm²

★ Area of shaded region = Area of square - Area of non shaded region

=> Area of shaded region = 196 - 25.14

=> Area of shaded region = 170.86 cm²

Therefore, area of shaded region is 170.83 cm²

Answer:

\large\sf\underline{Given\:\:\:\::-}

  • Side of square = 14 cm
  • Area of larger Square = side²

 \\   \colon\implies \sf \:   {14}^{2}  \\  \\  \colon \implies \sf \blue{ 196 \:  {cm}^{2}} \\

Therefore, area of larger square is 196 cm².

We are given with four semi - circle. Now , we have to complete the circles of diameter of 2x cm .

 \implies \sf \: x + 3 + 2x + x + 3 = 14 \\  \\  \\  \implies \sf \pink{ x = 2 }\\  \\

So, the radius of square is 2 cm.

_______________________

Area of non shaded region = Area of two circle + area of sqaure of side 4 cm

\colon\implies \sf{2\times}\sf\dfrac{22}{7}×2×2

\colon\implies \sf{25.17cm}

Hence, Required area of shaded region

 \\ \colon \implies \sf196 - 25.17 \\  \\  \\  \colon \implies  \sf\orange{170.83 {cm}^{2} } \\  \\
