Supposition

  • let the present age of Son be X.
  • and the present age of father be 3x.

Linear equation:-

:\implies 2(x+20) = 3x+20

Solution:-

:\implies 2(x+20) = 3x+20

:\implies 2x+40 = 3x+20

:\implies 20 = x

hence, the present age of Son is 20 years

and the present age of the father is 20×3 = 60 years
