Hi! I came across a question on my science test called What is an aquifer? I have no idea what it is.

An aquifer is an underground layer of water-bearing permeable rock, rock fractures or unconsolidated materials from which groundwater can be extracted using a water well. A well is a hole drilled into the ground to penetrate an aquifer.
