Combustion is the process of burning of a material in the presence of oxygen with the production of heat and light.

Reaction of Complete Combustion :-

• CH4 (Methane) + 2O2 :--- CO2 + H2O + ENERGY.

If complete combustion takes place in the presence of oxygen and the substance burns completely then it produces Carbon dioxide and Water.

Reaction of Incomplete Combustion :-

2CH4 (Methane) + 3O2 :---- 2CO + 4H2O + Energy.

Incomplete combustion takes place when sufficient amount of oxygen is not available. This leads to the formation of Carbon monoxide and Water.
