Hello friend....

Argon gas is used in fluorescent andincandescent light bulbs to stop the oxygen inthe light bulbs from corroding the hot tungsten filament. The use of argon in light bulbsprevents the evaporation of the tungsten filaments, which results in increased light bulblife.

Hope it helped u....☺️☺️

DarkOverlord: oxygen is not present in the light bulb its the inert gases that r present there
fatima2375123: thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bulbes heats up the tungsten wire to such a high temperature that it starts glowing... as the temperature of tungsten is very high it can easily react with oxygen present around it and will form oxide of tungsten (tungsten wire will burn) thus a chemically inert gas such as argon is present around it to stop oxygen from reacting with the tungsten!

hope this helps
