Bholi real name was Sulekha. Her parents called her Bholi because she is mentally backward. She stammered badly .And she had Black pockmarked on her body. Her parents neglected her completely.But bholi's teacher gave her all love and affection.She spoke to her very softly. She filled her heart with new hope. She said that in time, she would become the most learned person in her village. then nobody would laugh at her. Thus the teacher changed Bholi into masterpiece of courage and confidence. that's how Bholi's teacher play an important role in her life . We see this when Bholi refuse to marry a mean and greedy person like Bishamber.
