According to Newton's second law, rate of change of Linear Momentum in a body is directly proportional to force applied

Numerically..it is..force = mass × acceleration

The first and third law of Newton can be derived from the second law.

…. Explanation of how rate of change of Linear Momentum is directly proportional to force applied is as following:

We know momentum = mass × velocity

change in momentum = mass × changed velocity

Let final velocity be = v

Initial velocity= u

Change in velocity = v-u

Changed momentum = mass × (v-u)

Now..let us take change in momentum per unit time

= [Mass × (v-u)]÷ time

= Mass × (v-u)/t

As..(v-u)/t = acceleration

So..mass × (v-u)/t

= Mass × acceleration= force……answer
