Distance is defined as the actual path traversed by a body.
It is a scalar quantity.
It can never be negative or zero
Distance never decreases with time.
Next displacement
It is the shortest distance b/w two pts.
It ia vector quantity.
It can be neg,zero or positive.
It can decrease with time.

The difference between Distance and Displacement can be gained through following parameters :-

1》\boxed{Definition:}

\textbf{Distance:} The actual length of the path travelled by a moving body is respect of direction is called the distance travelled by that body .

\textbf{Displacement:} The shortest distance between the initial and final position of a moving body in a particular direction is called its displacement.

2》\boxed{Physical\:Quantity:}

\textbf{Distance:} It is a scalar quantity.

\textbf{Displacement:} It is a vector quantity .

3》\boxed{Value:}

\textbf{Distance:} It is always positive.

\textbf{Displacement:} It can be Positive, Negative or Zero.

4》\boxed{Dependence\:on\:path:}

\textbf{Distance:} It depends on the path followed by.

\textbf{Displacement:} It does not depends on path.

5》\boxed{Magnitude:}

\textbf{Distance:} It's magnitude is always greater than or equal to the displacement.

\textbf{Displacement:} It's magnitude is always less than or equal to the distance travelled.
