Answer:

Make a list of the various options first:

  • 2 × 100 - 60 + 40  =  180
  • 2 × 100 -(60 + 40) =  100
  • 2 ×(100 - 60 + 40) =  160
  • 2 ×(100 - 60)+ 40  =  120

and

  • 2 × 100 - 40 + 60  =  220
  • 2 × 100 -(40 + 60) =  100
  • 2 ×(100 - 40 + 60) =  240
  • 2 ×(100 - 40)+ 60  =  180

Now it is easy to choose answers for the three statements.

Can they be done in more than one way?  Yes, all three have more than one answer.

Here are some example choices (one for each):

  • 2 ×(100 - 60 + 40)  >  2 × 100 -(40 + 60)
  • 2 ×(100 - 60)+ 40  <  2 ×(100 - 40 + 60)
  • 2 × 100 -(60 + 40)  =  2 × 100 -(40 + 60)
