Hi please say why in above picture in question (II), they are adding 1000g and 300g.

THEY ARE, NT ADDING THEM

1kg = 1000g

WE have been provided with 300g extra

So it will be adding to the remaining 1000 g

1kg 300g = (1×1000)g +300g

= (1000+300) = 1300 g
