Here we need to calculate displacement not distance, Because the question is how far she is from initial point,

We know that, West and North directions are perpendicular to each other,

Now we can draw a Right angled triangle, With base 12m, Height 5m, Hypotenuse is the displacement,

We know that in a right angled triangle,
Hypotenuse² = Base² + Height²,

=> Hypotenuse² = 144 + 25 = 169 m
=> Hypotenuse or Displacement = 13 m ,

So 13m is the distance between her initial point and final point,

Hope you understand, Have a great day !
