Given :  \frac{d}{dx} ( \frac{x^2 - 1}{x^2 + 1} )

= \ \textgreater \    \frac{ \frac{d}{dx}(x^2 - 1) * (x^2 + 1) - (x^2 - 1)*  \frac{d}{dx}(x^2 + 1)   }{(x^2 + 1)^2}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{ (\frac{d}{dx}(x^2) +  \frac{d}{dx} (-1)) (x^2 + 1) - ( \frac{d}{dx} (x^2 +  \frac{d}{dx}(1))(x^2 - 1)  }{(x^2 + 1)^2}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{(2x + 0)(x^2 + 1) - (2x + 0)(x^2 - 1)}{(x^2 + 1)^2}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{2x(x^2 + 1)  - 2x(x^2 - 1)}{(x^2 + 1)^2}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{2x^3 + 2x - 2x^3 + 2x}{(x^2 + 1)^2}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{4x}{(x^2 + 1)^2}

Hope this helps!
