1. A long bone has a shaft and two ends.

Some bones in the fingers are classified as long bones, even though they are short in length. This is due to the shape of the bones, not their size.

Long bones contain yellow bone marrow and red bone marrow, which produce blood cells.

2. Cartilage connective tissue is important because it provides support, but is less rigid than bone. It also allows for some flexibility of movement, but has more stability than muscle.

3. They move our bones and associated body parts by pulling on them – this process is called muscle contraction.

However, muscle contraction cannot act to push the bone back into its original position, and because of this, muscles work in 'antagonistic muscle pairs'.

4.The earthworm's body is divided into segments. Each segment has a number of setae or very small bristles that earthworms use to help them grip the soil as they move.
