Answer:

these are sets chapter questions too :)

1.n(t)=80=total people

n(v)=60=had vanilla icecream

n(c)=35=had chocolate icecream

(I) total =vanilla+chocolate-both

n(t)=n(v)+n(c)-n(vnc)

80=60+35-n(vnc)

80-95=-n(vnc)

-15=n(vnc)

15=n(vnc)

(ii) only vanilla=have vanilla-have both

n(v')=n(v)-n(vnc)

n(v')=60-15

n(v')=45

(iii)only choclate=have chocolate-have both

n(c')=n(c)-n(vnc)

n(c')=35-15=20

2.n(h)=400=play hockey

n(c)=250=play cricket

n(hnc)=120=play both hockey and cricket

(I)only hockey=play hockey-play both

n(h')=n(h)-n(hnc)

n(h')=400-120=280

(ii)only cricket=play cricket -play both

n(c')=n(c)-n(hnc)

n(c')=250-120=130

(iii)total students=play cricket+play hockey-play both

n(t)=n(c)+n(h)-n(hnc)

n(t)=400+250-120=650-120=530

hope it helped you :)

good night:)
