Hi there

The sum of the digits of a two digit number is11. The number got by
interchanging the digits is 27 more than the original number. What is
the number?

let the 2 numbers be x and y

x+y=11-------------------(1)

let the original no be 10x+y

so the reversed number is 10y+x

10y+x=10x+y+27

-10x+x+10y-y=27

-9x+9y=27-----divide by 9

-x+y=3------------------(2)

solving 1 and 2

x+y=11

-x+y=3

---------

2y=14

y=14/2

y=7

substituting y=7 in (1)

x+y=11

x+7=11

x=11-7

x=4

so the original number is 47

and the reversed number is 74
