Answer:

E = 6.6×10^-19 J or 4.125 eV

Explanation:

According to the given question ,

We are having ,

Wavelength = 3000 A°

And are asked to find the energy of photon it carries if the photon is having wavelength which is equal to 3000 A°.

So, We know ;

Energy of photon, E = hc/wavelength

Where h= Planks constant

c = speed of light

and wavelength is of photon.

So, by putting the values of h and c;

h= 6.6 × 10^-34

and c= 3×10^8 m/s

After multiplying h and c and divide it by electron charge,

= h×c/e

= [(6.6×10^-34) × (3×10^8)] / 1.6×10^-19

= 12375

(To get answer in eV i divided h×c by electron charge)

So we get E =( 12375/3000 ) eV

where eV is the energy of photon in electron volt.

So E = 4.125 eV (approx)

And if want the result in Joule, just multiply it by electron charge.

E = 4.25 × 1.6 ×10 ^-19 J

E = 6.6×10^-19 J ans.

shrutijatt: well the ans is 6.63×10-19
shrutijatt: thx
shrutijatt: 4.14 ev right?? not in Joule
BrainlyGod: hmm

Answer:

we know, Energy(E) = hv ; v = frequency

h = planck's constant = 6.63 ×10^-34

v = c/λ c=3×10^8

E = hc/λ

E= 6.63 × 10^ -34 ×3 × 10^8/3×10^-7

E= 6.63 × 10^-19
