Why is photosynthesis beneficial for both autotrophs and hetrotrophs

Photosynthesis is beneficial for autotrophs i.e., plants to make their own food and it is also beneficial for heterotrophs i.e., animals as we need plants for our survival because they give us food , shelter , oxygen etc.
