Hide Slides
It mean's to Hide the slide and it state will be stay there
u have to unhide to view again
Delete Slides
It mean's to delete the slide it can't be view again

Hide slides means the slides are very much there in the presentation but not visible where as delete slides means to remove the slides from the presentation itself.
