On the basis of observations and conclusions made by α-ray scattering experiment, Rutherford proposed the nuclear model of an atom (after the discovery of protons)
➤ The Postive charge and most of the mass of the atom was concentrated in extremely small region called nucleus
➤ The nucleus is surrounded by electrons that move around the nucleus with a very high speed in circular paths called Orbits
➤ Electrons and the nucleus are held together by Electrostatic forces of attraction
