The mobility of protons in water is “abnormally” high. While the hydrated radius of (H3O)+ is about the same as that of K+ (2.8 versus 3.3 Å), the equivalent mobility of protons in dilute aqueous solutions is almost five times that of K+ (3.62 × 10−3 versus 0.75 × 10−3 cm2/(V·s)
