Five reasons why elections are considered essential for any representative democracy:-

  1. Elections are essential for the proper functioning of any representative democracy in the best way.
  2. It gives people a voice and a chance for those voices to be heard by giving them the power to choose the government of their interest.
  3. People also get the right to remove a government when it fails them, their needs, and demands.
  4. Since elections take place regularly the government cannot turn autocratic and cruel.
  5. The leaders are forced to work with honesty since their right to rule lies in the hands of the people.
