There are many similarities between both, South African struggle for freedom and the Indian National Movement.
The first and foremost similarity is that both countries fought against the British as they invaded in the name of the business and occupied it. It took years of non violence and revolutionary tactics to free the countries of British rule. British considered all Indians and Africans inferior.
Another remarkable similarity is that there are two similar leaders in both countries i.e. Gandhi and Nelson Mandela who adopted nonviolence for the fight.
