Soil erosion is the removal of the top fertile layer of the soil due to various external forces. Causes of soil erosion are as follows:-

GROUND SLOPE

Those ground having steeper slope gets eroded faster than gentle steep this is because infiltration is less because of the speed of the run off.

AMOUNT OF RAINFALL

The higher the amount of rainfall the more is the soil erosion.

DEFORESTATION

Removal of the soil cover results in the losening of the top fertile layer of soil making it weak and easily prone to erosion.
